These women actually look like they could go out and kill someone (probably because it's a well-done shopped version of the original male characters) whereas the anime-inspired one just looks like a bunch of hoochies holding fake weapons for a photo shoot, before they drop everything and go hit the club. It's drawn well, but I can't imagine those scant, flimsy clothes being of any practical use when in a pitched firefight, other than to show off cleavage.

      And indeed, it looks like the pic in this article is based on this "TF 3" pic, although I don't think it was a full-on trace.

      In addition, the TF2 style was achieved far better in this one than any of the other fan art anime versions.
