The 2008 PGA Tour heads to the Deep South for the Viking Classic in Madison, Mississippi at the Annandale Golf Club. PGA Tour veteran Chad Campbell lit it up here in 2007 when he captured the title by one shot over rookie Johnson Wagner and his four-round total of 275 tied D.J. Trahan for the highest-winning score in Viking Classic history. The tournament is scheduled to play opposite the Ryder Cup and attracts players who are attempting to make the Top 125 on the money list and retain their tour cards.

The 2008 Ryder cup returns to American soil and will get underway at the Valhalla Golf Club in Louisville, Kentucky. The course was designed by professional golfer Jack Nicklaus and is the perfect setting for the American team to get another shot at the Europeans after their close defeat in 2006. They have not won this tournament since 1999 and will have an even tougher time this year with the absence of the injured Tiger Woods. For the first time since their last victory, the opening matches of a Ryder Cup will feature the alternate-shot format. The matches involve various competition between players selected from two teams of twelve. The winner of each match earns a point for their team and if any match is tied after 18 holes then a half point would go to the winner. Nick Faldo will captain for Team Europe and Paul Azinger for Team USA.

The American South continues to be the site of the 2008 PGA Tour when the much anticipated TOUR Championship begins at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta, Georgia. The stakes are high for golf’s finest players as they compete in the final event of the FedEx Cup. This year's tournament will be without 2007 champion Tiger Woods, who has been sidelined for the rest of this season with an injured knee.

One of the premier tournaments on the 2008 PGA calendar, the Turning Stone Resort in Verona, New York will once again host some of the world’s best golfer’s for the second Turning Stone Resort Championship. American Steve Flesch became the first ever winner in 2007 when he came up with clutch shots when he needed them and held off all challengers and walked away with one million dollars in prize money.

More great golf is in store once again when the Valero Texas Open tees off in the Lone Star State. With a long and rich history, San Antonio has played host to this event since 1922 and is the third oldest PGA Tour tournament. Many big-name players have won here over the years and the star players of today will be competing to add their name to this distinguished list of past champions. American Justin Leonard is the defending champion after his close 2007 victory.
